Police officers interact with LHS students in unique way at car safety clinic

Here’s a good idea from an Idaho town that should be something that is done more often – either through the police department as they did it or through the schools. Most children have a vehicle these days, or access to one, and should know the basics of operation (what does that thing do?!?) as well as how and why regular maintenance is an important part of car ownership.

Several mechanic’s from around town provided the free inspections and taught drivers about the inner workings of their cars.”We want the kids to get out and accompany the mechanics around and actually learn how to do all this stuff because some of them may be on their own next year,” said Student Resource Officer Robert Massey.
